Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s (WGTC) New Allied Health Facility is two stories and contains 96,150 square feet. This new building allows WGTC to provide new classroom space for seven new medical programs and 17 existing programs that support the Governor’s strategic industry initiatives and WGTC’s strategic plan.

The construction of this new facility is helping WGTC meet the high demand of their health and medical field programs. It will serve as a medical lab training facility to house new medical programs. The construction effort included office space, general classroom space, laboratory space, practical clinics, and informal learning environments.

Services Performed

Abbeville Commissioning was engaged to commission the major systems of this building from construction through the first year of occupancy, including:

  • Mechanical systems
  • HVAC controls
  • Electrical systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Laboratory Systems
  • Renewable Energy Systems

Abbeville Cx also conducted two years of quarterly HVAC analysis and a 12-month measurement and verification of the building’s energy performance.

“Knowing that Abbeville Commissioning was our advocate was such a comforting feeling. Rusty Smith and his entire organization are extremely professional while adding a personal connection to the business. They are a world-class business with a wonderful small-town personal relationship with us as the client. I felt they truly cared about our building quality and that was evident in the high level of attentiveness Abbeville Commissioning gave this project.”
